L U C I O C A S T R O was established in 2010. Its main focus is to create clothes for men that are ethical and also modern and sophisticated. Most fabrics are Japanese and organic and the line is cut and sewn in a few small to medium factories in Sri Lanka. The very recent cease-fire, their detail-oriented craftsmanship and strong environmental laws, make Sri Lanka a promising emerging manufacturing country. The leather pieces are manufactured in Argentina, a country that has been specialized in high quality leather goods for decades. All the trim is being produced by small fair trade organizations: coconut buttons in India, hand-made metal buttons in Nepal (with very low nickel levels) and Tagua nut buttons (the original form of buttons before the introduction of synthetics in the 50's) in Ecuador. The line debuts with its Spring-Summer 2012 collection.
